The following rotational changes in the management of our Society took place in 2017:

 

Dr. Cumaraswamy Sivathasan, Director, Mechanical Cardiac support and the Heart and Lung Transplant Programme, National Heart Centre Singapore, moved to President of our Society.

 

Minoru Ono, M.D. of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Tokyo, moves to Immediate Past President of our Society.

 

Francesco Moscato, Associate Professor, Deputy Head of the Working Group on Cardiovascular Dynamics and Artificial Organs, Center for Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering, Medical University of Vienna, was elected President-Elect.

 

Marvin J. Slepian, Professor of Medicine – Cardiology, Professor and Associate Department Head - BioMedical Engineering, McGuire Scholar - Eller College of Management and Director, ACABI – Arizona Center for Accelerated BioMedical Innovation - all at the University of Arizona, moves to Past President of our Society.

 

Prof. Geoffrey Tansley, Professor and Head of Professor and Head of School of Engineering, Griffith University, Australia, was elected Secretary General.

 

PhD Tomonori Tsukiya,  Laboratory chief at Department of Artificial Organs, National Cerebral & Cardiovascular Center, Japan, was elected Treasurer.

 

We welcome the new Board members Osamu Maruyama, Schaun Gregory, Thomas Schlöglhofer in the management of our Society, and thank Takashi Yamane, Stephan Schueler for their great contribution during the past years.
